A Holiday Color Throwdown

Hey there, all! I am the hostess today over at the Color Throwdown Challenge blog! I'm so excited when I host. I think this week I was too excited! I couldn't figure out what the hey I was going to make....more on that in a sec... I kept the colors for this week pretty traditional for this time of year figuring it might be a nice excuse to get some last minute holiday cards done.
Here are this week's colors...

There's kraft in there....SHOCKER!

Can I just tell you that I had a completely different project in mind. I created this awesome reindeer using a new punch. I put a scarf and a bell around his neck and I thought he would be so cool to use this week, but I flipped and I flopped with my layout and embellishments and he's now in the scrap pile after being on three different background, none of which I was happy with.

So scratch that! I started fresh and this is what happened....

I colored this awesome image from Pure Innocence. It's actually a digi! I've been buying PI digis from digistampcharacters on Etsy. I didn't even know they sold them there...I just stumbled upon them one day! This one, Mr. Snowman 001 was only $1.65!! Sweet! I started by coloring him with Copics and tried my had with this week's Mojo Monday Sketch #168, but it's a stretch. Not sure if I'm even going to upload it there...should I?
Any whoo....I added a scallop felt border, stitching and baker's twine to the top of my snowman image. Ok, that looks pretty good. Now, what to do with the rest....this double ribbon, holly leaf, snowflake concoction is what happened next. I can't take credit for the ribbon combo. I saw Amy Sheffer do it first, but don't they look lovely together?! Instead of the square sentiment-ready panel the sketch provided, I wound up with a snowflake charm after stamping my sentiment on the kraft base in Chocolate Chip ink.
I'm left with a hmmmmm.....I think I like it....it is growing on me!! Hahahaha...Hopefully, it grows on you too. Leave and come back a couple of times and let me know if you like it any more!! HAhahahahaha
I hope you'll play along with us this week at the Throwdown. Make a project using the colors for this week and share it at the CTD blog using the link serivce!
Oh and by the way, this will be the last challenge of the year, a little breaky for the holidays and we'll return the first Wednesday in January! This also means we are saying goodbye and thank you to Lynn Put, our Guest Designer for November and December. She's so talented!
Also, please don't forget to have a look at the fabby creations from my fellow design team members...They've created such beautiful cards this week!

Enjoy and thanks for stopping by!
