Color Throwdown Wednesday!
It's Color Throwdown Wednesday! I'm a little but early with my post, but I made my card using last week's MFT Wednesday Stamp Club sketch and I wanted to be able to link it up, so for any of you who follow my blog and play along at the CTD...psssstt....here are tomorrow's colors! Ahahahah!!! Tammy has chosen these lovelies as she's our hostess this week.
So let me explain. I wanted to make a patterned background and I did and then I went and covered it all up basically. I didn't have any papers that were exclusively this week's color so I spent a while rummaging through my scrap piles and bags and bins etc...and I found these old SU! papers called Sweet Always? Anyone? Buhler?
I cut strips from several different scraps and made a background collage and mounted it on a Saffron mat which I then stitched (not too carefully) with brown thread.
Using the MFTWSC7 I finished off the rest of my card with this cute little image from Pure Innocence which everyone knows by now I love so much and I added in a flower which I made on my Cricut and some additional details with felt, stitching and rhinestones.
Oh and how can I forget to mention my button embellishment. HA!!! Ok, so we have a Yahoo Group for the CTD designers and we have a lot of fun and occasionally we'll have a discussion pertaining to craft (but not often, ha!). I decided to ask the group how to make these multi-loop twine bows I've been seeing everywhere that look so easy but that I struggled with immensely. So back and forth and back and forth some of us went on which type, and show me examples and blah blah until Tammy finally chimed in "tie a bow and then tie another one over it" and I nearly died because that never even occurred to me, The Queen of Over Complicating Things. Tie a bow and then tie another one over it! DUHHHHH! So, that's what I did! And I hate it. It looks like there's a spider under there and I will be doing this differently in the future. BUT IT WORKED! HA!
So come play along with us at the Color Throwdown! Check out the CTD Blog for all the details and here is a list of links to the design team's blogs where you will find incredible examples using this week's colors.
