The Reject Blog Hop!
Helloooooo!!! So I created a few cards for the Sept/Oct 2011 issue of Paper Crafts mag and sadly, once again, didn't receive any happy mail. Seriously, though...my mojo has set sail. To where? Not sure, but hopefully it will return soon and say, "hi".
The fun thing about having rejects is being able to participate in the reject blog hop which you can find HERE at Amber's blog.
I created one card and submitted it and within 10 minutes of sending I wished I could have retracted it, hahahahah! It's almost embarrassing it's so bad. No really, I can't even bring myself to share it with you.
I will share this 2nd card that I made using the Go To Sketch #2 for this issue. It's not as bad as the first, actually I kinda like it, but it's a little flat or one-dimensional. I wish it had more texture. I will say that this call was a toughie? Anyone agree? I thought the sketches were hard!! Anways, have a look....
I started out with the piece of decorative paper from Echo Park's For the Record collection and I stamped the leaf image from PTI's Year of Flower Mums directly onto it using Spring Moss ink and then I inked and distressed the edges. Then using the smaller flower image from the same set I stamped it several times and 5 different images using Copic markers. Then using my nestie circles I cut out all different "angles" of the flower image and adhered them to the Echo Park paper in layout format. I stamped my sentiment on vellum card stock and cut it out into a ribbon ended flag and adhered it to my card with a staple in keeping with the rustic feel of the card. I also added in some stitching. Then I mounted everything onto a kraft base and called it done.
Whatta ya think?
Head on over to visit Amber and load up your rejects!
Have a great night!!!
