It's Chi Chi Memories Blog Hop Day!!!

Well, it's a happy day and a sad day. Happy to see all the wonderful and fun designs for this blog hop and sad because this will be my last post as a design team member for Chi Chi Memories. It was only a few short months ago I found Natalie's fabulous Birthday Boy set as I scoured the Internet for digi stamp sets and only a few days later that I became her very first design team member. I would have continued my dt post through to October, but I decided for personal reasons to support Natalie once again as a customer and will remain a loyal fan of Natalie's and Chi Chi Memories.

So on to the exciting part of this hop.....hopefully, you've arrived here from Guest Designer Katie's blog. If not, please click on her name to view her fabulous sample. Please also visit the ladies that posted earlier this morning as well: Lorraine and Jane. And while your here, please check out mine :)

Part of today's hop challenge for the DT Members was to use Natalie's Chi Chi Memories sketch #7.

As you can see, I took many creative liberties with this sketch, but if you look closely it's not too far off either. I made sure I had something in each corner just like the sketch, I just did them my way. I think it's important to remember that a sketch should be a jumping off point to get your creative juices flowing and you shouldn't feel like you have to follow it to a T especially if it compromises your design. So I went with my own version and am giving credit to the sketch as my jumping off point! Ha! This is my disclaimer for not following it exactly, aaahahahahahah!!!!

For this card, I used this cutie-pie girl image from the Valentine's Day set, which is an incredibly versatile set and one that I hadn't colored yet. You will notice that I chose to color her as though she dressed herself, Ha! Actually, I'm very happy I added the polka-dots to her dress and stripes to her tights. I also added stripes to her purse and hearts to her balloon, which might be a little harder to see. I chose to use some Cosmo Cricket papers from the Girl Friday collection as well as some kraft paper and my favorite embellishment, a glittered, vellum heart with a linen-threaded button!!! Yumski!! My FAVES!!!

Please make sure to visit the Chi Chi Memories store and from here make sure you HOP on over to Guest Designer Sarah's blog. There will be chances to win prizes for leaving comments on the designer's blogs. So, leave a comment because the winner could be YOU!
And feel free to make a card using the fabulous sketch from this week and be sure to upload it to the Chi Chi Memories Community/Gallery!

On a special and personal note, a big thank you to Natalie for believing in my work enough to use it to represent your business and your fabulous art work! That means the world to me! Thanks :)

Have a great day. Have fun hopping! And thanks for stopping by!

Chi Chi Memories - Birthday Boy - Exciting News!

Good morning! I'm writing today as the official mom of a two year old. Saturday was Little Keith's birthday and we had a great time. I can't believe he's two. Time is moving at warp speed!

I'm posting a card I made today using this fabulous Birthday Boy image from Chi Chi Memories. Natalie Tong is the amazing designer of this really cute line of digital stamps. And to make matters even more exciting....Natalie has asked me if I would be her first, official Design Team member! I couldn't be more thrilled to represent Chi Chi Memories and to work with Natalie. I'm sure we will have some exciting releases to come. I can't wait to show you all her cute stuff. In the meantime, I hope you will visit Natalie at Chi Chi Memories as well as her blog. You will not be disappointed with the quality of her images and their affordability.

This card also represents my take on Jen del Muro's Sketch For You To Try which you can see here.Alrighty, I'm off to the gym with the little man. He will play at the play space while mommy walks on the treadmill and panics that he might miss or need me, but it's good for both of us!
Stay tuned for more from me and Chi Chi Memories and as you might have guessed from this post I am severing any official ties to Stampin Up so that I can explore my creativity and inspiration from other fabulous companies! Sad, but good for me as I've felt a little stifled since the changes to their IDA. I'm excited about this move!
Have a fabulous day!

Coral Rose Blossom

Hi all! Happy Friday! Before I get into any of the details about this card, you must know that I totally copy-cat-ed my sentiment from Jessica Rone. Here is a link to her card that obviously has been stuck in my head for quite some time because as soon as I made this card it just popped into my head that I wanted to feature her sentiment panel. Isn't is dreamy?
My card features the Bella Blossoms set stamped in Cameo Coral and sponged with Rose Red. I popped up the center petals with glue dots but stamped them in Rose Red and the stem and petals are Kiwi Kiss. I then curled the edges of the main blossom to make it pop a little off the page.
For my layout, I used SCS sketch challenge SC220 which is from a few weeks ago but am just now getting to play around with.
Again, please visit Jess's blog. Her work is AMAZING!!!! HERE is a link again.
I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Love is in the Air

The card was made for this week's Sketch Challenge at SCS. It's definitely my own take on the sketch as the card opens to the left of the sentiment. What you can't see in the photo is that I used my new clear spica marker on the wings and heart flutters. I took some inspiration from Jen del Muro. She used these images together and I just loved him. You can see her card here.
Hope you like it! Thanks for dropping by.
