Great News To Share!
I have some great news to announce that I've been holding onto for a lil' bit now. I was asked to be the Guest Designer for the month of February for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge!! Isn't that cool?
When I think of Flourishes, I think of beautifully designed, intricate, true to life images that require strong Copic techniques. And then there's me who usually paper pieces most of her images because I fake it till I make it with my Copics.
So what am I doing here, you ask? Well, I hope to show you that even those with limited Copic skills can still use and enjoy the beautiful images from Flourishes! I hope to also show you that even if your collection of Flourishes stamps is *thinner* than you would like, The Timeless Tuesday Challenge is still a really fun challenge to play along with each week and challenges participants to think differently about their creative process!
What I really like about the Timeless Tuesday Challenge is the different theme or concentration, if you will, that is chosen each week by our hostess. This week, the amazing Silke is our hostess and she has challenged us to create a Valentine.
Here's what I designed using my From the Garden set which I TOTALLY love!
I started out by stamping the Geranium and flower pot, which is probably my favorite image combo from this set and colored it with my Copic markers. The image was just so easy to color! Then I masked my image and stamped the text background using Linen distress ink. I then made a frame for my image using my Cricut machine and my Mat Stack 5 die which I then ran through my Big Shot with my Woodgrain texture plate. I added in this awesome designer paper from American Crafts, added in a little touch of felt and a few more extras like jute button twine and stitching and I called it done!
OH! And how can I forget to mention the sentiment? I stamped the "Plant Kindness Grow Love" sentiment from the set which I thought was so appropriate for this week's theme and heat embossed it with black embossing powder which really helped it to stand out from it's busy hearts background.
What do you think??
Please head on over to to the Flourishes blog and visit the amazing creations from the design team for more inspiration using this week's Valentine's theme.
This was SO fun! I can't wait until next Tuesday to share another project with you! I'm very excited about it!
Thank you for stopping by to visit me today! And a BIG THANK YOU to Tammy Hershberger and the wonderful ladies at Flourishes for this fun and fabulous opportunity!
