Color Throwdown Wednesday!
Hieee! Today is my favorite day of the week! It's time for another Color Throwdown Challenge! This week Bar is our hostess and she's picked some fun colors for us to work with! Yay, kraft!
I've got a couple lil' things to share with you today. Many moons ago, I used to make mini flower pots with dried flowers. I think every female relative on both sides of the family has one or had one, ha! As I was browsing the isles at AC Moore the other day I came across these mini pots and thought I would try something a little more current. It's totally not even done yet! HA! I am planning to paint the pot with glitter paint and add a leaf or two to the *stem*, better known as a toothpick!
This will go on the window sill above my sink as a *reminder* of sorts....I stress too much...about too many things.
I also have this card to share with you today...
Ummm, yaaaaa. I'm not so sure. Even if I don't like something I've made I usually don't say so. But I'm really not sure about this one! Not fishing for complements, trust me. It's just not as jazzzy as I'd like it to be.
I had actually made my CASE Study card seen HERE for today's CTD challenge, but then I realized that I had to post the CASE card by Tuesday! Whoops! So, I made this card for today.
I started with my YOF: Mums set from PTI. I stamped the leaf image onto kraft card stock with Spring Moss ink(a FAB giftie from my friend Tammy) and layered it on a Pear Pizzaz panel and did some stitching. I stamped the larger of the flowers onto Blushing Bride card stock and added in some shading with a Copic marker and cut it out. Then I did the same with some leaves when I decided I needed them. I added in my sentiment stamped with Ripe Avocado ink and then added in a row of tiny silver pearls. Oh and of course I added in a ribbon and I trimmed the end with my vintage pinking shears, a gift from my Grammy for Christmas that I am so delighted to have. They were hers. She used to do a TON of sewing and these were given to her by my Grandpa. I remember her telling me a story of how he saved up to give them to her as a present. Ok, I'm rambling....but I love them. I'm sentimental like that.
So, come play along! You know the drill! No? You can read all about playing along by visit the Color Throwdown Blog. I can't wait to see what you create. Also, make sure to visit my oh so talented friends at their blogs for oodles of jaw dropping designs....
