It's Color Throwdown Wednesday!!!

Hiya!!! How is everyone?

I'm the hostess for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge and I thought something that scream Valentine's Day was in order! Here's what I went with

And here's what I designed.....

I thought it would be fun to make a love banner using my Sentiment Flags die and I think it turned out really fun. I cut 5 banners from card stock and added texture with my linen/canvas texture plate then added a little black scalloped border to each one which I stitched into place. I thought it would be fun to have lots of hearts so I punched some out using my three hearts punch from SU! using the medium heart. Using my Cricut I cut out the letters for my sentiment "LUV U" and glued the letters to the hearts. I wanted to separate the words so they didn't run together so in between luv and u I added a red sentiment flag with a glittery heart. I strung everything together using some red twine and added it to my card.

It looked a little plain with just my banner AND I have these new adorable Pure Innocence sets I bought from My Favorite Things AND she had little hearts on her dress SO I couldn't resist. If you noticed I colored my entire image! Look, MA! No paper piecing! HAhahahah!!! Until now, I have truly underestimated the importance of a very wet and juicy colorless blender. It makes all the difference in the world!

After cutting out my lil' lady, I added in a few more details like stitching, rhinestones, another heart with twine and called it done! The finished size is 5.5 x 5.5 to allow for the size of my banner.

What do you think?

I hope you will join us this week at the Color Throwdown Challenge. Head on over to the CTD blog for all the juicy details and I'd love for you to visit the blogs of our design team for some delicious and inspiring projects! I can't wait to see what you create!
