I'm Sponsoring the Color Throwdown Today!!!

Happy Wednesday! My wonderful friends at the Color Throwdown Challenge are FABULOUS and agreed to let Lil' Inker Designs (me) sponsor today's challenge!! So in addition to using the awesome colors today, each of the design team members and our new guestie, Carla Suto, is using the very first product I designed with ag designs called Sentiment Flags!
Get ready to play! One LUCKY WINNER will be chosen from this week's Throwdown's participants to receive a Sentiment Flag die and stamp set. And to show you even MORE love and FREE a die and stamp set, click on over to my shop blog for a chance to win there as well!! YAY!
Sentiment Flags is a die with a ribbon-tail end perfect for adding cute little sentiment panels to all your paper crafting projects. But why stop there? Together with ag designs we created a coordinating stamp set to *dress up* the Sentiment Flags die. The stamp set contains 5 fun borders and 5 uniquely-fonted sentiments as well as a cutey flag pole stamp to bring your sentiment to the center stage.
Let's have a look at the yummy colors for today...

And here is how I put these colors together with Sentiment Flags...

Card One:

In the interest of keeping today's long post as short and sweet as possible, I will direct you to the ingredients list at the bottom of this post, but will mention a couple of goodies. Here I used my Sentiment Flags die with kraft paper and stamped the fun dotted-line border in Elegant Eggplant ink and the Happy Birthday sentiment in Perfect Plum ink. I just LOVE how Sentiment Flags can finish off a project! I love love love the kraft flag. Also, you'll notice a parcel tag and some baker's twine which I will also link to in the ingredients section.

Card Two:

This might be my favorite of the two because I've used Sentiment Flags in a totally new way by making the flags into a banner. It was really easy to do. I die cut 4 Sentiment Flags and stamped each with the polka-dotted border and cut them down a bit and added my HB2U sentiment from some purple sticky letters I've had hanging around forever. I added a top border to each using a small scallop border die(MFT) and tied them together with some of my new baker's twine and a couple of purple buttons I've also had forever. I couldn't resist using kraft banners again. I just love the way they look with the purple ink. This is also a special card because it uses these cutey bunny and gift images from Chicken Girl Designs available at I Heart Papers from a set called Best Wishes.

Sentiment Flags die and stamp set are each made by the leading manufacturers in the USA and if you purchase dies and clear stamps from popular online retailers you are already familiar with the quality. It was my goal to bring you only the best products available. That's so important to me.

Sentiment Flags retails in my shop for $15 plus s&h. Click HERE to get to the shop and then use the Add to Cart button to make your purchase securely via PayPal or major credit card. I hope I've intrigued you with Sentiment Flags and hope you will click on over to the store to have a better look. Please also feel free to browse my recent posts here on my design blog as I've been using lots of Sentiment Flags to give you lots of inspiration.

BIG THANKS to my design team friends for supporting me! Your support and encouragement means the world to me. THANK YOU! Please visit their blogs for more FABULOUS inspiration using today's colors and Sentiment Flags!

Color Throwdown Day! More Sentiment Flags and a Chicken Girl Giveaway!!

Good Morning! It's my favorite day of the week! I have a fun project to share with you today featuring my new die and stamp set, Sentiment Flags (available now and will begin shipping TOMORROW) as well as this great image from Chicken Girl Designs and OF COURSE, today's Color Throwdown colors. Tammy is our Throwdown Hostess this week and she's got a sweet combo for us. Check it out:

Here's what I made:

I started with this fun image from Chicken Girl Designs available exclusively at I Heart Papers called On the Moove. It's one of the images from the August release and it's totally my favorite. And today, one lucky commenter on this post will be entered to win a FREE August Release image of their choice!
As soon as I saw this image I knew I had to make a little scene and have her driving on a little road! As I was putting this together over the weekend I thought this scene would be a perfect way to incorporate the flag pole image from the Sentiment Flags stamp set! I stamped the polka-dotted border (one of 5 fun borders in the set) around the "On the Moove" sentiment in Tempting Turquoise which I printed from my computer and stamped my flag pole in Basic Grey ink from SU!. I popped up her sunglasses with foam dots for some added dimension.
I layered my focal panel on Melon Mambo and then on some Lemon Tart paper not Daffodil Delight, which just worked better I thought. But that's the beauty of this challenge, you can use what you have that's close. I thought my cloud paper background was also pretty close to turquoise :)
How can you play? Make a card or other papercraft related project and upload it to your blog or online gallery(using keyword CTD109) and then link it to the Color Throwdown Blog by using the InLinkz tool and a direct link to your post or gallery picture. Chicken Girl & Sentiment Flags

Hi All! Nice to see you today! I'm here to share a project I made using this cute image from Chicken Girl Designs called Just A Note available at I Heart Papers and my new Sentiment Flags die and stamp set available through my blog exclusively! Sentiment Flags are scheduled to arrive this week and I plan to start shipping on Thursday! YAY! You can read more about Sentiment Flags, my new must have die and coordinating stamp set in these posts on Shop Lil' Inker HERE and HERE.

I couldn't help look at this image and think "You Rock" and I believe I am casing the so caseable and lovable, Tammy Hershberger. I used my GIMP free image editing program to erase the doggie (sorry, man) and merge the kittie and the bird together to match up with my "You Rock" sentiment. Whatta ya think??

After editing my image, I printed it and colored it with Copics. I knew I wanted to use this week's SFYTT from Jen del Muro, however, my focal image is a rectangle to better suit my image. I then worked the layout with my Thrift Shop papers from October Afternoon, also available at I Heart Papers.

For my Sentiment Flag panel, I custom created You Rock! in MS Word with the Quill Script font and printed it. Then I used my Sentiment Flag die to cut it out as well as my Sentiment Flags stamp set to stamp the red stitched border. Cute, huh?

Please stop by and visit I Heart Papers to check out the full Just A Note image as well as the most current releases for August and for loads and loads of paper crafting supplies including all the delicious and wildly popular new papers from CHA still arriving in the I Heart Papers store as we speak.

Please also visit my shop to grab your copy of Sentiment Flags stamp set and coordinating die. UPDATE: the stamp sets are arriving this week and I am going to begin shipping ALL orders on Thursday! YAY!

More Babies with Chicken Girl Designs

Yowsa have I been on a spree making baby cards!! And you know what's funny? I already have another one to share, but it won't be for a few weeks, thankfully. So maybe I will cool it until then and maybe make a birthday card or something, HA!!
So here is the latest addition to this ever growing collection of baby cards on standby. It features this sweet image from the August release called Dreaming of You by designer Jannie Ho of Chicken Girl Designs which are available only from I Heart Papers! This could be used for several different occasions, but it really said "baby" to me. (I swear I am not hinting with any news with all these baby cards!)

I started with Lemon Tart base and stamped it with Craft White ink from SU! using the Background Basics: Polka Dots set that I just can't away from right now. I colored my image with Copics and added some rhinestones to the stars and some Spica gel pen to the moon for some shine and layered it on a jumbo scalloped circle from Spelbinders. I accented with the star with button and gold twine, more shine.
Here, I also stamped my sentiment directly onto my ribbon. PTI's hybrid ink is PERFECT for stamping on ribbon as it barely bleeds. I used Ocean Tides and like how it's a subtle sentiment as opposed to jumping off the page.

Please visit I Heart Papers for this and more fun images from Chicken Girl Designs.

Thanks for stopping by today! Your comments make my day!!

I {Heart} Chicken Girl & A Give Way!

Helloooooo and happy 4th weekend!! I am stopping by to share this little ditty with you I made about a week ago but haven't had time to blog about and I've been waiting because it contains something special that I'm getting ready to share with you!

I made this using Silly Monsters set from Chicken Girl Designs available exclusively at I {Heart} Papers and it's currently on sale for $5!!! Five Bucks peeps! Can't you think of umpteen people you could make a card with this sentiment for? I sure can! I think it's so fun! The monster I colored up happens to be my favorite from the bunch. I colored him with Copics which I also got from I {Heart} Papers and added him to a metal edge tag along with some kraft paper (of course I did), a large scallop, stitching and some punched polka dots for a little fun! The lined paper is some of my fave. It's the B side to one of the papers from Cosmo Crickets Girl Friday collection. I have no idea which one it is as I've cut off the info part and used this scrap, but the A side is teal with colored dots, swirls and butterflies.

If you've stayed and read through this far, why not leave me some love? I will be giving away a Chicken Girl image of your choice from the June collection!

So leave me a comment here and I will choose someone at random over the next few days! I appreciate your feedback!!

Thanks for stopping by and for sticking with me today!!

POST 2: Today is Color Throwdown Challenge Day!

Can I just tell you how much fun I'm having being part of the Color Throwdown Challenge team this month?! These girls are a riot AND SUPER talented which is inspiring to me. I feel like I can learn a lot and ME LIKEY THAT!!!

So on to this week's fabulous Color Throwdown #92 colors...They're so yumski!
And here's my card:

As you can see I focused heavily on So Saffron, Baja Breeze and Kraft with only a wee little hint of Old Olive. You can see it though, RIGHT?
I decided to use this adorable clear stamp set from Chicken Girl Designs available at I {Heart} Papers called Hugs From A Bug . This bee image was just too cute not to use right away! And no surprise here, I used my new Thrift Shop papers from October Afternoon also available at I {Heart} Papers! The layout is my own and a very simply stated one. I also incorporated the use of this legal pad paper from My Mind's Eye. I love it's vintage-y feel and thought it coordinated well with my other papers.

Make sure you stop by to visit the Color Throwdown Challenge blog to upload you creations! I can't wait to see them! AND make sure you visit the blogs of the amazing Color Throwdown designers:

Chicken Girl Release Day at I {Heart} Papers!!!

It's May 10th and that means the new Chicken Girl digis are available!!! Check out these 4 new and oh so adorable images designed by Jannie Ho available exclusively at I {Heart} Papers: Gator Greetings, Owl Graduate, Kitty Cake, Monkey Around Or Click HERE to view the entire May Collection!

My card today features the Kitty Cake digi!

I started by coloring my image with Copic markers and cut him out with my circle nesties. Actually I did this several days ago, but I couldn't decide what I wanted to do with the rest of the card. I'm so glad I waited because in the meantime my new Thrift Shop papers arrived from Kate at I {Heart} Papers. It was a coinky-dink that my coloring matched the papers AND THEN I stumbled upon this week's Sketch For You To Try from Jen del Muro.

I added in just a few simple touches like the hemp twine and staples...then I felt my focal panel just needed a little umph so I grabbed one of the clear rubber sets from Chicken Girl called "Birthday Wishes" and added a little balloon to Mr. Mousey's hand and a newsprint-wrapped present to my design. I also used the sentiment from this set "Let's Party". I love how the clear stamps coordinated with my digi stamp so well!!! The Birthday Wishes set is still available for purchase in the I {Heart} Papers store. Click HERE to view the entire set.

A Cutie To Share

Good morning, all! Today the little man and I are heading out to the office, but before we do I wanted to post this little cutie I colored up from Chicken Girl Designs!

This cutie patootie raccoon is from April's release. I couldn't resist her smiling face! You can pick up your copy of this fab digi at the I {Heart} Papers store. Right now, the store is experiencing some technical difficulties, but it's expected to be functioning later today. So I can't give you the direct link to this stamp, but you can find her filed under Chicken Girl Designs HERE.
I made her specifically for this week's sketch challenge a Splitcoast Stampers, SC279. I "memorized" the sketch and went up stairs to craft and well, it's not the sketch! It's off, so it's my own take, but I still uploaded it because I made it just for the sketch! I used some Urban Prairie papers from Basic Grey which I am just in love with. I also used a Verve sentiment and the background is from Taylored Expressions Creativi-Tea set.
Have a fab day! I will be back on Monday with a card from Chicken Girl's May release! So exciting!
