It's Color Throwdown Wednesday!!!

Hieee! Wow! It's February! Can you believe it? I feel so badly that I missed last week's challenge. I loved the colors that Danielle picked for us and I was dying to work with them, but I was so sick. I hate to complain, but first my son had the croup, then I got SO sick with the stomach flu, then my husband got the stomach flu. Then we needed a trip to the ER with Keithie for the croup which was just stubborn to get better then I got an ear infection and then I broke out into a weird rash. Seriously! If I didn't know better I would have thought someone put a curse on me, or us I should say. And now that I've got my gripes out of the way..moving ON!!!

Let's talk about this week's Color Throwdown Challenge! HA!!
Kristin is our hostess this week and here are the colors she's chosen to challenge us this week....

And here's what I designed.....

I started by coloring this Pure Innocence digi from digistampcharacters on ETSY. I have to admit, I'm slightly addicted to PI. Now that Chicken Girl is no longer releasing new images I'm so happy to have found a new go to for myself that I just adore. I've even purchased a couple of clear PI sets from My Favorite Things which I can't wait to get inky! It's so much easier to paper piece having an actual stamp, although not too hard with just a digi either which is what I did for her lil' dress.

I then added in a bunch of different papers that I love and have a distressed, rustic feeling and added in some buttons and jute twine and hemp twine, lots of stitching and a Saffron bow. I used a sentiment from PTI's Tiny Treats: Birthday set which says "Happy Bird-day" which I thought was paired nicely with this image.

Please visit the blogs of design team who seem to be able to whip up these beauties of theirs in no time flat of which I am truly jealous! Hahahahah!!! Mine took me over three hours. Something's wrong with me, I swear!

And help me welcome Joan Ervin, February's Guest Designer!

We'd love for you to play along. Make a card or paper crafted project and upload it to an online gallery using keyword CTD127 or to your blog and then link it to the Color Throwdown blog using the linky service provided. And don't worry about being exact. Use what you have that's similar. All we ask is that you provide a *direct* link to your blog post or online picture. I can't wait to see what you create!!

On another note altogether, we are getting absolutely bombarded here in Mass with snow. I snapped a couple of pictures yesterday that I thought I would share.

View from front door looking right and down the street

Our neighbor's house across the street. See how high the snowbank is?

Big Keith shoveling and still with a smile on his face.

Our local mailman out delivering! God bless the mailmen!

View from our back door. See how you can barely see the deck railing from behind that monstrous mountain of snow? Also, just beyond the deck rail you can just barely make out the top of the retaining wall. That wall is actually three feet high! My hydrangeas are under there somewhere.
Rediculous!

Thanks for stopping by today!!
